Everyone knows that you can get anything and everything on eBay. But many people think that everything you buy there will come through the mail - and with something like a new or used lawn mower, that could be spendy! I wanted to point out a feature that eBay has that allows you to search your geographic area for items you’re interested in buying.
Say you’re looking for a John Deere riding mower and you want to buy it locally, or within 50 miles of where you live. That way you could go look at it and check it out, you could go get it and save a shipping or delivery fee, or even find a dealer who delivers! These are some of the benefits of local shopping that you can get on eBay. Also, many private sellers just don’t want the hassle of dealing with shipping a large heavy item like a lawn mower or lawn tractor. They have local pickup only requirements.
So, you just click here to find your lawn mower locally.
Scroll down the page until you see this:

eBay Location Search
Put your zip code in the space and hit Search. You will get a list of mowers within the number of miles you’ve specified. Easy, wasn’t it?!
Fall is a great time of year to buy that new or used mower. The lawn season is almost over in most areas and people are thinking about snowmobiles and snow blowers. So do a little smart shopping on eBay, and score a great deal on that lawn mower.

Even though I know that keeping my lawnmower properly serviced is the key to its long life of reliable mowing service, I don’t do it. It’s messy, I don’t know how to do it, I don’t want to do it, and its hard work because my old Ariens lawn mower weighs a ton. So I let it go for several years (the longest was 7 years between oil changes and servicing!!) before I break down and find someone willing to schlep it to a mower place where they’ll do it for me. Those wonderful guys who come to your place to do this work don’t exist out here.
For many parts of the country, lawn-mowing season is winding down and it’s a good idea to service your mower before you put it away for the winter.
Anyway, because you’re reading this, I know you’re a better mower owner than I am. So I found this short little article that you’ll probably find of interest. eBayer 2tommys56 talks about the right kind of oil to use, and what kinds of dangers really lurk behind the innocent face of your mower. Like how you can easily, but really don’t want to, turn your lawn mower into da bomb…
The biggest problem I see when I go to someone’s house to repair their mower that isn’t working is they don’t service it or didn’t do it right. OIL= Oil selection is VERY important. You shouldn’t use oils that have paraffin in them. How do you know? Pour some oil out of the bottle and look at it. … Click here for rest of article.

Without a doubt, the familiar “big green machine” John Deere mower is a familiar site. Long considered one of the best lawn mowers and lawn tractors you can buy, the brand has a faithful following - and with good reason. Quality and durability mean that there are lots of vintage John Deere tractors and mowers still doing their jobs in keeping America’s lawns beautiful. You pay a bit more up front, but the cost benefits of owning a John Deere long term far outweigh the initial cost.
In case you’re confused about which series to get, eBayer 9798warren has provided a short paragraph on the differences that will help you decide.
OK. YOU HAVE DECIDED TO BUY A JOHN DEERE MOWER, CONGRATULATIONS , WITHOUT A DOUBT IT IS THE BEST MOWER AVAILABLE, NOW, HOW TO YOU TELL WHICH ONE TO BUY? THIS IS HOW. THERE ARE THREE SERIES TO CHOSE FROM … Click here for rest of article.
